SpongeBob und Patrick werden in der Episode Der edle Ritter aus der vierten Staffel in die Zeit des Mittelalters versetzt, in der sie einige Bekannte treffen.
SpongeBob and Patrick go on a medieval-sounding chivalrous game called "moments of the Middle Ages". The King and Maurice announcer must choose two from the audience that can participate in the tournament. SpongeBob and Patrick think that Maurice chooses who can only watch the fight at close range, so they are eager Report. When they understand that they are in danger, it is already too late. The two are selected to fight on sea horses against each other and the race SpongeBob and Patrick Seahorses at each other, collide, and the two friends are flying out of the castle. Completely out of breath, they finally reach the top floor, but Planktonamor already calls the dragon jellyfish. However, SpongeBob defeat them with his Jellyfish network by capturing them. In the meantime, Sandy sets the princess. The network keeps jellyfish but not long and the kite jellyfish destroyed it with an electric shock. The jellyfish drives SpongeBob and Patrick in the corner and they are already preparing for their death before - Patrick suggests a last snack. SpongeBob thinks it's a good idea and unpacks the Krabby Patty he has a stock it. The jellyfish smell the burgers and eat the same one. Suddenly, the jellyfish has totally tame, so SpongeBob gives it more patty. Planktonamor is furious and yells at the jellyfish, but this sets the midget with an incapacitating electric shock. The jellyfish is tamed and Perla is saved. Back in Bikini Bottom country there is a great celebration in honor of the "great hero who fell from the sky." Thaddili plays clarinet, but so bad that the seahorses, where SpongeBob and Patrick are sitting refuse. The two are catapulted away. SpongeBob is found in "moments of the Middle Ages" again and realizes that he has dreamed it all. But Thaddili is suddenly there in the real Bikini Bottom. Was it still reality?

Trivia und Fehler
- Der Name des Restaurants „Medieval Moments“ ist eine Anspielung auf die Restaurantkette „Medieval Times“.
- Die Guillotine, die sich im Thronsaal des Königs befindet, war im Mittelalter noch nicht bekannt. Das in der Episode gezeigte Fallbeil mit schräger Klinge ist eine Erfindung der französischen Revoultion und als Hinrichtungsinstrument erst seit 1792 im Einsatz.
- Planktonamors Turm ähnelt dem Turm von Xardas in der „Gothic“-Reihe.
- SpongeBob sagt, dass er nicht auf einem Seepferd reiten kann, aber in den Episoden Der Seepferdeflüsterer und Leben wie Larry konnte er auf Mystery bzw. anderen Seepferden tadellos reiten. Außerdem können die beiden am Ende der Episode auch noch auf Seepferden reiten.
- Der Schwarze Ritter hat keinen Helm auf. Wie kann er dann als Sandys Vorfahre im Wasser überleben?
- Der Originaltitel ist eine Anspielung auf das amerikanische Pen-and-Paper-Rollenspiel „Dungeons and Dragons“.
- Die Musik, die eingespielt wird, als SpongeBob und Patrick von den Rittern bedroht werden, ist dieselbe, die man in der Episode Ein göttlicher Burger hören kann, wenn König Neptun seine 1000 Krabbenburger zubereitet.
